Mold contamination can cause health issues including respiratory problems, allergies, and eye, nose and throat irritations. Much of the time, indoor mold contamination is undetected until symptoms appear. Symptoms include dizziness, fatigue, rashes, watery eyes, allergies, congestion or shortness of breath.

Property buyers should require homes to be tested before purchase to ensure mold or other environmental issues are not present. For property sellers, testing before listing will increase marketability in comparison to other offerings.

Many sources of mold contamination originate from unseen roof or window leaks and remain undetected until expensive mold remediation becomes necessary. If you experience water damage, water leaks, moldy odors, water staining on ceilings or walls, contact AirMD immediately.

While there are established Environmental Protection Agency guidelines for outdoor pollution, no federal standard guidelines exist for indoor pollution.

An AirMD analyst will visit your home or office with scientific equipment and inspect, measure and assess for the following conditions:

Visual observations – mold inspection to detect whether mold is present and to document the extent of the mold growth.

Fungi (mold) – air and surface sampling to identify what types of mold are present.

Odor assessment – detect odors from chemical and biological agents using odor detection instrumentation. Odors are often indicators of mold presence.

Airborne particles – air sampling to measure concentrations of particles and mold spores in the air.

Microbial volatile organic chemicals (MVOC’s) – testing to detect chemicals produced by mold.

Moisture measurements – to assess whether moisture is present in building materials which provide favorable conditions for mold growth.

Laboratory Testing – to analyze samples taken to identify the different types of molds present and confirm environmental conditions.

Upon completion of the testing, samples are sent to our independent accredited laboratory. An AirMD written report identifying any mold related issues, including written protocols and the laboratory report, are sent within seven business days, identifying the problems, causes, and corrective measures.
